ABOUT THE ARTIST: Ivan Goncharenko was born on February 23, 1908 in the village of Lozanovka, Berdyansk region. Goncharenko was the first to try to paint landscapes and portraits of people. This gave the young artist strength to continue his creative activity, and from that time he did not part with a brush and paints. At the art institute I.M. Goncharenko was unable to study due to illness. He received his education at the Kharkov Pedagogical Institute, and after graduation he worked as a drawing teacher. Ivan Matveyevich worked as a school teacher. For a long time he directed the studios of young artists in the club named after Ostrovsky and TsDYuT. Each work of the artist is passed through the prism of his soul. He painted what he saw himself. The artist's heart stopped beating in 1989.
